Fire Safety workshop includes safety and business risks

Another very successful MPA Lime Health and Safety Working Group workshop took place in early June on the topic of Fire – prevention, detection, response. Valuable sharing of experiences included major fires which disrupted normal production and required special efforts to successfully maintain lime supplies.

MPA to help deliver International Panel on Climate Change report

Dr Rachel Capon, MPA Sustainability Programme Manager, has been confirmed in the role of Coordinating Lead Author for the Carbonation of Cement and Lime Chapter in the 2027 IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change) Methodology Report on CDR (Carbon Direct Removal) and CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage).

Keeping up with Standards

The CPR Acquis for CEN standards is requiring the re-drafting of the building lime standard BS EN 459 and MPA Lime is working with the BSI B/516/11 committee to support the process of developing the new standard.

Transport and Logistics Health and Safety Workshop

As part of an ongoing programme of twice‑yearly workshops involving the MPA Lime Health and Safety Working Group, a full‑day workshop was held focusing on Transport and Logistics. Members shared the issues they are facing, along with the solutions they are using to address them.
